There are a lot of fun & new things happening in this Newsletter. Angela and I are still in Australia. January 30th we are off to New Zealand and we intend to visit Thailand too. We are in the process of bringing Angela into the US on a fiance' visa, so we have decided to travel so we can be together until this process is done. Our radar shows that we may be coming to Canada, the UK, and Iceland in the near future. I will briefly come into the United States to get my car and possibly do a few talks before Angela and I make our way across Canada.
I have been getting a lot of great questions from many of you about the past articles in previous newsletters. I decided to answer those here in this newsletter. Next month I will be doing Q & As primarily on colon hydrotherapy due to the influx of questions I received on the subject:

"Fruit vs. Fat" Article
Q: How much fruit is too much fruit? Are you recommending a high fat diet?
A: An athlete can handle more fruit than a sedentary person at a computer all day because they require more fuel for energy. Each person is completely different. We have to look at our weight, age, health condition, etc. If you find yourself eating PRIMARILY fruit in large quantites many times a day, then it is something to be concerned about for LONG-TERM success. I feel the way to be successful on a high % Fruit diet in the LONG-RUN is if you are eating small quantities of everything. For example, you could eat in a day only 2 pounds of fruit, 1/4 avocado, 2 tablespoons of nuts, and a half cup of vegetables. The percentage of fruit is really high % here comparatively speaking. This is not a high fruit or high fat diet. You are eating a high percentage of fruit without putting masses of sugar in your body. It is very balanced. Some days Dr. Norman Walker successfully lived on a diet like the above. It would take YEARS for most of us to balance out on a diet like that. It is very hard to be balanced on any 100% Raw Food diet, let alone the one described above. As the years go by, it becomes easier and easier. It is a LONG journey. Practicing periodic colon hydrotherapy expedites the process ten-fold.
I don't recommend a high fat diet for the long-run either. The mentioned Raw Food Newbies in the article eating many avocados or a jar of almond butter a day is not a strategy recommended for long-term success. The only reason they can get away with that in the beginning of their Raw Journey is because it is a much better diet than the cooked food diet they were previously on. As the years go by on a 100% Raw Food diet you evolve into needing less food and these quantities will automatically go down. In the beginning of my Raw journey, I ate a high-fat diet. As the years went by my fat intake has gone down drastically. I started out with 2 - 3 GIGANTIC avocados a day for about the first 5 years of being 100% Raw. My body became cleaner and cleaner and it wouldn't tolerate it anymore. I started to wake up in the morning extremely congested. In the beginning I wasn't getting congested because it was a much better diet than my previous Standard American Diet. These days, I don't eat more than a half of an avocado in a day, with some nuts and I see the avocado quantity going down even more so.
"The Missing Link on the 100% Raw Food Diet!" Article
Q: You mentioned in your last article that going on the 100% Raw Food Diet is like going on a Life-Long Fast. Can you compare the detoxification rate between a 100% Raw Food Diet to a 92 day Juice Feast?
A: The more food that you leave out of your diet, the more you are going to detoxify. Since a 100% Raw Food Diet is such an improvement, compared to any cooked food diet, choosing to do that over a juice feast would still produce a continual detox. The Raw Diet would be a more gradual and sustained detox compared to the juice feast because you are still eating solid food. For a guy like my dad with a BIG Belly who has been eating greasy fast food for many decades, if he was to adopt a raw diet it would be like someone who has been Raw for 6 months going on a juice feast. Although he would extremly benefit from a Juice Feast or 100% Raw Food Diet if he continually cleansed his colon, I would like to see my dad on a balanced intermediate cooked wholefood diet. It would be a more gradual and sustained detox for him. Due to how my dad has eaten all his life, at 68 years old an intermediate cooked wholefood diet would definitely be like a life-long fast for him.
"How to go Raw?" Article
Q: Do I have to go on a 100% Raw Food Diet to heal from my degenerative disease? What are my options? Which option is the most effective?
A: There are three most common approaches that people generally take to heal from a degnerative disease, if it is not too late;
"Prolonging Demise Route" - Chemotherapy, antibiotics, and other drugs
"Slow & Effective Route" - Effective Intermediate Cooked Food Diet, Juicing, and Colon Cleansing
"Fast & Expedited Route" - 100% Raw Food Diet, Juicing, and Colon Cleansing
There are many institutes where people go to heal from degenerative diseases, such as; Ann Wigmore Institute, Hippocrates Health Institute, Creative Health Institute, and Optimum Health Institute. Every one of these institutes use the fast & expedited route. They put everyone on a 100% Raw Food Diet, they give you green juices to drink, and they make sure you do colonics and enemas many times a week.
Why would these healing centers do this???
It is the quickest way to heal the body from degenerative diseases because it is the most nourishing and healing way to treat the body.
Imagine living your life this way on a daily basis!!!...
If you throw in taking therapeutic enzymes a couple times a day on an empty stomach in addition to eating a 100% Raw Diet, cleansing the colon 1- 3 times a month, and Green Juicing on a daily basis, you have found the IDEAL way to treat the human body. Your arteries, blood vessels, organs, and every other pathway through your body will become optimal channels of efficiency.
Watch out! You will MORPH into a NEW CREATION of matter. If you read the "Blood Gas Theory" Article, you will understand that if you are consistent with an improvement in diet, the cells will shrink by throwing out toxins within their structure (detoxification). All your hundred trillions of cells shrink and this is the morphing one goes through. It is like reaching a new plateau and ALL THE RULES CHANGE. Also in the "Blood Gas Theory" Article you learned that since the cells have shrunk to a new level (plateau), the fermentative gas produced from our old poorer food choices will have worse consequences on our health now than before. There is less room and space for gas in the cells because they have shrunk and excess gas from poorer food choices in our system can cause shock and cellular damage.
There are many ups and downs when your body transforms into a new organism and this should be kept in mind when choosing to improve your diet to the extreme 100% Raw Food Diet or an effective intermediate cooked food diet. The great majority who attempt the 100% Raw Food Diet, aren't capable of staying in emotional and physical balance. You don't need to be 100% Raw to be healthy. I have seen many people on an intermediate diet live disease free and experience great longevity.
Q: Can I get rid of my Genital Herpes on the 100% Raw Food Diet?
A: If you know what you are doing, you can succeed in keeping the outbreaks dormant. It is critically important to understand this concept I am introducing; how your body reaches this new "plateau" when you go Raw. If you succeed on the 100% Raw Food Diet for a good amount of time, and then ever decide to go back to what you were previously eating, there will be an even greater chance that you will have an outbreak. Since you have reached this new "plateau" and your cells are in a contracted (smaller) state, there is less open space within your cells and body to accommodate the excess fermentative gas produced from poorer food choices. Your body will use every avenue to release these toxins. An outbreak would be more likely than even before you improved your diet.
The same holds true for any degenerative disease. I knew of a man who developed a serious degenerative disease and healed himself by adopting a healthier diet. He was warned that he must eat this way for the rest of his life, and that to relapse into his old ways would cause problems. He got married and started eating his wife's food because she would get upset if he didn't eat what she made for him. His degenerative disease came back in full force. Upon getting confirmation from his doctor that his illness had returned, he and his wife both agreed that was the last he'd ever taste of his wife's cooking. Fortunately this man was able to heal once again by adhering to a better diet.
"Therapeutic Enzymes" Article
Q: What exactly happens in the body when you take enzymes on an empty stomach?
A: Enzymes are catalysts. They are like little sparks. Their mere presence accelerates and causes chemical reactions within the body, increasing its efficiency. When you eat them on an empty stomach, the enzymes don't come into contact with food, spark up and get utilized to digest the food. You are just throwing a mass of little sparking catalysts into the body. They go in and go to work in the metabolic processes of the body, causing masses of chemical reactions that would not have happened if you didn't eat them. Sometimes I feel mucus just dissolve in my sinus cavity soon after taking them. It is quite amazing. Any type of enzymes that you eat on an empty stomach you will benefit from. However, some enzymes are MUCH more powerful than others.
Q: Do you need less sleep on a raw diet?
A: I feel that someone needs to be extremely consistent and balanced on a 100% Raw Food diet to be able to sleep less and still be healthy. I encourage to not let "less sleep" play a factor or be a "prize to be won" when choosing to go 100% Raw. The more sleep you get, the more awake time you are going to have in the long-run, because you are going to live longer. Sleeping is regenerating time ("becoming younger" time). Sleep as much as you can!

The Inspiration to start my own blog is based on of a personal commitment to eat a consistent, balanced, PURE wholefood Raw Diet. What this means to me is that there will be no more overeating sessions (Durian, Raw Food Restaurants). Additionally, my diet will be absent of spices, cacao, Nama Shoyu and many other "gourmet" ingredients... And you thought becoming 100% Raw was a social challenge!
My commitment to you is to be honest, upfront, while expressing my truth 100%.
This decision happened after I took over Angela's blog for 3 days while she was on retreat. I was really inspired by the readers, to eat the best I could. Below are a few snippets from the blog postings I did. You will get a feel for how the blog works and you will also learn more about my inspiration for starting a new blog and what my past eating habits have been like.
Snippet from January, 8th
Today I ate:
11 AM Green Vegetable Juice
1:30 PM - Meal 1:
1/2 avocado
1 tablespoon of pumpkin seed butter
2 teaspoons of cut up green onions
1 Tablespoon of lentil sprouts
1 ounce of alfalfa sprouts
2 tablespoons of fenugreek sprouts
4 medium diced up 'Black Russian' Tomatoes
**all the above mushed with a fork in a bowl
Romaine lettuce leaves to wrap the above in and EAT
4:30 PM Green Vegetable Juice
5:30 PM Meal 2:
6 or 7 large dried Turkish figs
(soaked overnight with just enough water to top them)
3 tablespoons of hemp seeds
**Blended all those ingredients above
1 small handful of goji berries swirled in
8:00 PM Vegetable juice
10 oz of beet juice
I walked over 10 miles yesterday and I was sustained by eating a similar meal plan as above.
Awhile back, Dr. Fred Bisci taught me the fig meal above without the goji berries. I added the goji berries because I like something to chew on. This recipe is so simple! Ladies... it tastes amazing. Men... it is a muscle builder. If you switch up the hemp seeds with sesame seeds, this meal is an awesome source of calcium. I started to play around with this recipe and I started to switch up the dried fruit and seeds. For example, I would soak a couple large handfuls of goji berries overnight and blend them with pine nuts the next day. That was quite interesting. AND THEN!... I soaked 8 oz of dried mulberries overnight and blended that with three or four tablespoons of hemp seeds or tahini. This is a DELICACY!!! Instead of adding goji berries to have a chewing sensation, I just add more dried mulberries. It may be a bit pricey, but I can literally eat that meal every day. It has a much lower glycemic index than the figs and tastes ~!HEAVENLY!~. In fact, I smuggled 20 one pound bags of them in my luggage and ate it with Angela every day for a month here in Australia. I loved it so much I tried to ship more into Australia but they were confiscated at the Agricultural Dept.
Why the beet juice? I do not recommend jumping in and taking this amount of beet juice. One should build up increasing their dosage periodically or it may make you dizzy and nauseous due to the cleansing reaction it has on the liver. Beets contain betaine which have been shown to improve liver function and reduce fatty deposits in the liver. I noticed that whenever I used just a small amount of beets in my vegetable juice, I would get really bad sulfuric gas so I started to avoid it. I thought, what if my liver just needs to be cleaned out? What if I drink massive amounts of beet juice every day until the gas stopped!!! This is my new experiment! The first week of this has been quite an event. Poor poor Angela.
Snippet from January, 9th
Today I ate:
11 AM Beet Apple Juice
16 oz Beet Juice, 4 oz Apple Juice
1:30 PM Meal 1:
1/2 avocado
1 tablespoon of pumpkin seed butter
1 teaspoon of cut up green onions
1 Tablespoon of lentil sprouts
1 ounce of alfalfa sprouts
1 Tablespoon of cut up cabbage
2 medium diced up 'Black Russian' Tomatoes
1 cut up seeded center of large cucumber
**all the above mushed with a fork in a bowl
Iceberg lettuce leaves to wrap the above in and EAT
4:30 PM Green Vegetable Juice
5:30 PM Meal 2:
1 Banana
1 Black Sapote
4 cut up Turkish figs
1 hand full of goji berries
2 - 3 tablespoons of tahini
**all the above mushed with a fork in a bowl
It is so fun showing all of you what I eat in a day. It inspires me so much with my food choices that I am tempted to start my own blog. Besides almost passing out today from trying to show off by drinking 16oz of beet juice, this could be a great thing. You inspire me!!!
Notice how I eat almost the same thing with just slight variations each day. The kinds and quantities of food I eat each day are CONSISTENT. The variety of fruit and fat changes but there is a cap on the quantity of fat and carbs I eat in a day. I don't ever get bored of it. My body looks forward to it with drooling desire. No matter what our diet is like, if we eat less than our consistent diet, at some point we will go through detoxification until we stabilize out at the new consistent diet. Here is a snippet from my new book Raw Success:
Stabilizing Out happens when the body gets accustomed to a habitual quantity and a certain quality of food. Biologically, we stabilize out, no matter what our diet is like - whether we are on a cooked diet eating three fast food meals a day, or a Raw Diet eating two small meals a day. If we are consistent, eventually, our body settles into a "normal" food day; this is called "stabilizing out".
On a side note... Five days ago I gave up my natural salt addiction. It took me over 7 years of being 100% Raw to do that. Not too bad? For the first 7 years, I ate a considerable amount of dulse in my salads. That is how I satisfied my salt craving. Then I arrived in Australia and I didn't have any dulse so I started using Natural Salt (Himalayan or Celtic sea salt). Every romaine wrap I had would get a pinch of salt. If you added up all the pinches, you may have a small test tube generously filled. This natural salt was much more concentrated than the dulse I used to eat, which inspired me to release it. Now I can't even think of putting that much salt into my body after just five days of abstaining from it. The small amounts of onion, garlic and/or ginger give satisfaction that my taste buds need.

Today I ate:

16 oz Beet Juice, 4 oz Apple Cabbage Juice
1:30 PM Meal 1:
1/2 avocado
1 tablespoon of pumpkin seed butter
2 teaspoon of cut up green onions
1 Tablespoon of Cilantro & Parsley
4 medium diced up red vined tomatoes
**all the above mushed with a fork in a bowl
Iceberg lettuce leaves to wrap the above in and EAT
5:00 PM Green Beet Vegetable Juice
6 oz Beet, 10 oz cabbage, tatsoi, apple
5:45 PM Meal 2:
½ Small Mamey Green Sapote
1 Black Sapote
4 cut up turkish figs cut up
1 hand full of goji berries
2 - 3 tablespoons of tahini
**all the above mushed with a fork in a bowl
I haven't been consuming cabbage lately so I juiced some of it today. It is rich in Vitamin K and has significant amounts glutamine, an amino acid.
Many of you are amazed by how little I eat and are curious to know how long it took me to stabilize out at my current diet. The longer you are 100% Raw, the more you evolve into needing less and less food. The quantities of my food have been going down and down as the years go by. Depending on your age, weight, how consistent you are on your desired diet, and a hundred of other factors will determine how long it takes to stabilize out. Additionally, cleansing the colon on a periodic basis is the most powerful tool a health seeker can utilize. It will help you with the cravings and detoxification and expedite the stabilization process ten fold. It can take years balancing out and getting used to a 100% Raw Food Diet.
Notice how my diet above includes pretty much just whole foods without ingredients you would find in a gourmet dish. Every once in awhile, I'll go to a Raw Food restaurant and pig out. This puts me out of balance, stretches my stomach, and for a short period of time encourages me to overeat and partake in excessive "gourmet" ingredients. This "back and forth" has been an ongoing thing with me for a couple of years now. Before... that was quite different as I was very pure and fanatical about what I put in my body. I discussed this in my Raw Summit interview which is now free to listen to at Raw Spirit on the right hand side.
I feel that I am ready to commit to an ongoing consistent diet. It is a tough social and emotional commitment to make and that is why I am considering doing a blog, as it will inspire me. While he does eat a small amount of healthy cooked whole foods, Viktoras Kulvinskas is one of the rare individuals who recently made this monumental vow. All three of his meals contain a certain amount of ounces of food each and every day. If you do something like this, your body will demand it and there will be less margin for error in your food choices. These concepts are talked about in detail in Raw Success.
